Fundraising isn’t just about fundraisers, it’s for everyone who has to bring much needed income into their organisation.
It’s not the easiest job in the world but is made easier with the right training and a networks of peers.
Fundraisers from charities across Scotland will again be getting together in Glasgow in October to provide peer support, learn from each other and from some of the brightest not for profit minds from across the country, and indeed, the world!
The Institute of Fundraising in Scotland is volunteer led and committed to helping everyone do their best to develop their skills and to ensure their organisations thrive.
As conference chair, I am delighted to announce the launch of the programme for this year’s Institute of Fundraising’s Scottish Fundraising Conference, delivered in association with our headline sponsor, Johnston Mailing. The 2018 conference takes place in Glasgow on the 2 and 3 October, and I can’t wait.

There will be speakers from a wide range of organisations, large and small, local and even international. Whether you’re a full time fundraiser, or someone who has fundraising within their wider remit, or someone who advises other organisations, there are relevant sessions for everyone.
Scotland’s charities have lots of small teams or sole fundraisers, which can be an isolating experience for many. That’s why the volunteer organising committee is delighted to announce that it has introduced a discount for those working in smaller organisations, which we hope will give them the opportunity to attend.
There’s an expanded programme with a major gifts track introduced. The programme includes various masterclasses and sessions focussed on learning from our peers and providing practical tools we can take back to our organisations and put into practice.

We do our best to make sure the conference is affordable for as many organisations as possible but we recognise that for some, there is simply no budget for fundraising training.
Thanks to our bursary sponsor, Sharpestone Skinner, up to 10 places will be available for those who may not otherwise be able to attend conference. There are also volunteering places, which combine volunteering with learning, available for up to 15 people.

With 45 sessions (five being masterclasses) delivered over the two days and introducing 31 new speakers, including two from overseas, I’m very excited about this year’s programme and what it will deliver for our delegates.
