In Conversation: Fundraising for Heritage Trustees

This is a past event.

From 16:30 to 18:30 on 8th February 2018

Society Of Advocates in Aberdeen Broad St, Aberdeen, AB10 1BS

Cost: £10.00

Join Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage (RSH) for the second of our ‘In Conversation’ evenings – part of the RSH Trustees’ Forum event series, supporting Boards and Trustees to increase fundraising effectiveness through focused briefing sessions and peer-learning events.

For the second ‘In Conversation’ event, chair Catherine Holden will be joined by a panel of expert guests, to share their experiences, insights and tips on fundraising for the heritage sector. The panel will be comprised of individuals working with both large and small organisations; those in the thick of a fundraising campaign, or with a campaign behind or ahead of them, and others focusing on revenue fundraising.

Participating in the evening’s panel discussion will be –

Jon Tyler – Chair of Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust

The Ferryhill Railway Heritage Trust was set-up in 2007 to take over the remaining building and turntable of the former Ferryhill locomotive depot, restore it and transform the site into a working railway heritage site for the North East of Scotland. Jon and the team have already had success with applications to a variety of charitable trusts and foundations and are working in partnership with the North East Scotland Preservation Trust.

Other panel members to be announced

This informal, interactive event will provide attendees with the opportunity to hear from experienced professionals, participate in an open discussion and to hear reflections on fundraising in the sector. Whilst designed for trustees of heritage organisations, we would welcome anyone working or volunteering in the heritage sector to attend.

There will also be an opportunity for networking and discussion with peers, with refreshments provided throughout the evening.
