s there an issue close to your heart that you care about that nobody’s talking about? Jubilee Scotland are running a workshop for people to learn skills for how to campaign on social issues that are important to them. By being able to organise action within their communities, the causes they are passionate about can be heard by the people in power. Throughout the last year Jubilee Scotland has been working on a campaign against Public Private Partnerships, opposing the Scottish Government’s use of these schemes which have driven the country into debt. Now, we want to share our findings in a workshop which will equip you to engage with local politicians and have a say in the matters that affect your community. This workshop will give you lifelong skills that will enable you to engage with the work of local councils and MSPs and start your journey in campaigning for the things that matter. The workshop will be led by Jubilee Scotland’s Campaign Director, and features Church of Scotland speakers Irene Mackinnon, Scottish Churches Parliamentary Officer, and Clare Flenley, who will share their experience of linking communities with local politicians and engaging with participatory budgeting in local authorities.
