Dougie Peedle has been appointed head of policy by the Scottish Wildlife Trust. He brings new skills and experience to the wildlife conservation charity that will help further its work on natural capital and also influence government policy. Dougie has over 25 years of experience of developing and influencing policy, combined with a strong personal interest in wildlife and biodiversity. He joins the trust from the States of Jersey where he worked as the chief economic adviser for fourteen years. He also has recent experience of working with Scottish charities to help them evaluate and improve their policies and is a member of Aberdeen City Council's Economic Policy Panel.

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has announced the appointment of Lorraine Gray as its new chief executive. She was appointed interim chief executive in the spring, following Anna Fowlie’s move to the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.

Paul Boissier, chief executive of the RNLI, has said he will retire next year after 10 years in the role.The charity said in a statement that the former Royal Navy chief operating officer had confirmed "long-held plans" to step down next summer. The statement said that under Boissier’s leadership the charity had maintained its place as one of the world’s foremost maritime rescue organisations while working hard to modernise and make itself more resilient in the face of an uncertain future.
