Bield, one of Scotland’s leading housing and care providers, has appointed Susan Napier as its new chair. Susan has 37 years experience working in the housing sector, most recently as a freelance housing consultant and prior to that as director of business development at Dunedin Canmore Group. Having been elected to Bield’s board in September 2014, Susan will look to bring her past experience and knowledge to the fore in both representing and promoting the aims of Bield and the housing and care sector more generally. She said: "I have always been committed to the non-profit model of housing provision. I look forward to playing a bigger part in helping Bield to continue to provide better places to live and better-quality person-centred services.”

Graeme Fitzimmons, has been appointed as chair of Association for Real Change (ARC) Scotland. ARC Scotland's vision is to achieve real change that puts people with learning disabilities or other support needs at the heart of their services and communities. He has worked in the social care sector for more than 15 years, across seven local authority areas, and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience which will allow him to guide ARC strategically over the coming years. Graeme said: "I am delighted and honoured to have been offered the role of ARC Scotland chair. Its work, aims and objectives resonate with my own belief that supported people should have real and meaningful involvement, not just in their own care, but in how services in the health and social care sector are delivered."

Museums and Galleries Scotland has appointed six new board members, including Dr Adele Patrick, who was recently named 2016 Evening Times’ Scotswoman of the Year. Adele studied at Glasgow School of Art (GSA) and taught Gender, Art and Culture Studies in the Historical and Critical Studies Department at GSA. She gained a PhD in 2004 at the University of Stirling, where her research explored the connections between feminism, class and ethnicity. Adele co-founded the ground-breaking Scottish cultural organisation Women in Profile and subsequently Glasgow Women’s Library (GWL) in 1991. She is currently the GWL’s lifelong learning and creative development manager.
