​MND Scotland has appointed Lawrence Cowan as its new chair. He is currently policy and campaign manager for Scotland at Breast Cancer Now. In the past he has lead efforts to raise £500,000 for MND Scotland, double MND nurse numbers and recently helped secure a commitment from the Scottish Government to stop deaths from breast cancer by 2050. He said: "I want us to be the generation to cure MND and transform care.We’ve come far as a charity. Our annual income has doubled in five years and our influence has never been so high. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of the determination of our amazing supporters and staff."

Jamie Lockhart has been appointed as the new chair ofYMCA Scotland. He will be replacingMike Will MBE who has stepped down after eight years as chair to concentrate on his new role as president of YMCA Europe.At 24, Jamie is YMCA Scotland’s youngest ever chairman. Jamie is a fourth year theology student at the University of Edinburgh and has served on the executive committee of YMCA Scotland for three years. Of his appointment he said: “I am thrilled and honoured to have been elected as chair of YMCA Scotland. Throughout the past five years, I have been involved with YMCA at all levels from local to international, finding YMCA to be a champion of youth empowerment. My election highlights the organisation's commitment to youth empowerment."

VOCAL has appointed Francesca Greaves as its partnership development officer. She has been involved in fundraising since graduating with a degree in Criminology from Northumbia University in 2011. For the past three years she has been community and events fundraiser atEdinburgh Dog and Cat Home. She said: "VOCAL does incredible work to support unpaid carers in Edinburgh and Midlothian. I feel very passionate about the cause and I am looking forward to building on their corporate partnerships and fundraising initiatives to support the services they provide."
