Mhairi Snowden

Goodmovers | Who has a new job in the voluntary sector | 9 November 2016

Mhairi Snowden is the new coordinator of the Human Rights Consortium Scotland (HRCS). HRCS is a network of civil society organisations in Scotland which work together to promote a human rights based society. Mhairi has previously worked in policy with Skill Scotland: National Bureau for Students with Disabilities, and with Children 1st. She combines this new role with working for a European research association. Mhairi is looking forward to working with many across civil society in Scotland and encourages all those who want to promote human rights in Scotland to get in touch with HRCS.

Donna Nicholson

Learning Disability Alliance Scotland, a coalition of learning disability organisations, has appointed Donna Nicholson to the post of national coordinator following the retirement of Ian Hood. Donna, a former journalist and communications professional, has worked in the voluntary sector for more than 10 years and served with a number of charities and campaign bodies working on bioethical and disability related issues, in particular as part of the Care Not Killing Coalition in Scotland.

Bernadette Hewitt

The new chair of Scotland’s largest social landlord, Glasgow Housing Association (GHA), is Barmulloch tenant Bernadette Hewitt. Bernadette, who has been a GHA board member since May, 2014, succeeds Gordon Sloan, who has retired after six years in the role. She also chairs GHA’s North East Area Committee and sits on the Local Committee for Barmulloch and Balornock East.
