Lynda Thomas

Macmillan Cancer Support has appointed Lynda Thomas as its new chief executive. Lynda, who is currently interim chief executive and former director of fundraising at the charity, will take up the role with immediate effect. Lynda started her career working in communications for charities including Action for Children and NSPCC. She joined Macmillan in 2001 as head of media where she developed the charity’s campaigning arm. She was promoted to board level as director of external affairs in 2007 and in August 2011 she became director of fundraising.

Paul Amadi

The MS Society has appointed Paul Amadi as its new executive director of fundraising. He joins the charity from Diabetes UK where he has worked in the same position since January 2012. Paul brings with him two decades worth of experience and a strong track record of improving the performance at some of the UK’s most high profile charities. He increased the income at Diabetes UK by over 25% during his three years in post and while in the same role at the NSPCC, led a team of 400 and raised in excess of £130m a year. He has also served as chairman of the Institute of Fundraising and more recently as chairman of the International Fundraising Congress.

Vaughan Lindsay

Alzheimer’s Research UK has announced the appointment of Vaughan Lindsay as its new chief executive from May. Vaughan joins from The Dartington Hall Trust where he was appointed chief executive in 2004. Previously he worked for six years at Shelter as a director and as deputy chief executive at the National Council for Voluntary Organisations. Of his appointment Vaughan said he was looking forward to working with staff and supporters to build on the excellent achievements made in recent years. Alzheimer’s Research UK chairman David Mayhew CBE said Vaughan will bring “extensive experience” to the charity.
