New director for addiction support service

WithYou has welcomed a new lead for its 15 services across Scotland.

Addiction charity WithYou has named Louise Stewart as its director of service delivery in Scotland.

In this role, Louise will deliver the charity’s strategy and lead its 15 services across Scotland.

Louise joined WithYou in 2010, when it was known as Addaction, as a project worker at a community alcohol support service in Drumchapel.

Formerly known as Addaction, the leading charity provides a free and confidential service without judgement to people experiencing issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health.

Louise said: “With my inspirational colleagues, I look forward to continuing to work hard to deliver high quality drug, alcohol and mental health services across Scotland.

“When I joined WithYou I was newly married, about to turn 30, and juggling work life with looking after my children. I am so grateful to be part of a charity that invests in its people - and that has given me the learning opportunities and experience to help so many people through my work.”

WithYou is a charity that provides free, confidential support to people experiencing issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health.

Every month it supports more than 14,000 people in Scotland, as well as their families and friends.

Hayley Savage, interim chief executive of WithYou, added: “Louise’s extensive first-hand experience of delivering services makes her ideally placed for this incredibly important role.

“She is a compassionate and determined leader, and I know she will do everything in her power to radically improve more people’s chances of getting better.”
