Are you comfortable with schools reopening?

Covid schools

School pupils across Scotland are returning to classrooms this week for the first time in five months.

Physical distancing among students will not generally be required but hygiene and safety measures such as one-way systems have been put in place.

Except for children of key workers, most of the country's 700,000 pupils have not been in class since 20 March.

At her coronavirus briefing on Monday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon acknowledged that some teachers, parents and pupils would feel anxious, but said the guidance was carefully worked through and informed by scientific advice.

So this week, TFN is asking:

Are you comfortable with schools reopening?

The Scottish Government cannot organise anything on their own without help from other governments. Everything to do with schools from the reopening and blended model, general communication and exams fiasco has been appalling!

It is tragic that schools were closed and this is one occasion when i would have expected that learning could continue throughout the summer months. The feeling that i am getting is that it is the teachers who are concerned, not the pupils nor the majority of the parents. What does it say about us as a country that we are not prepared to put the education of our children before the economy - they are the future economy?
