Charities have renewed their calls for a £5 per week lift in levels of child benefit – claiming it would lift 30,000 children out of poverty in Scotland every year.

The Poverty Alliance and the Child Poverty Action Group made the call after it was revealed that the gap between the haves and have-nots is widening and a report projected worsening outcomes for families caused by Tory welfare cuts.

That’s why we’re asking: what do you think – should child benefit be topped up by £5 per week?

Stop breeding instead, or do not have kids if you cannot afford them perhaps ?
