Scottish Care has reported that care homes are facing a recruitment crisis.

It has warned that services could be forced to close if nursing posts aren’t filled – with almost a third of posts vacant across Scotland.

The social care sector as a whole is struggling to fill vacancies, with the Care Inspectorate recently reporting a major recruitment crisis in all care services. So TFN is asking: would you work in social care in Scotland?

Vote now and please leave a comment to explain your answer.

Services are stretched, people including managers are so busy, sometimes doing multiple roles that it's like Russian roulette. It feels like it's only a matter of time before you get in to trouble. Most people go in with a good heart, good intentions but this rush to the bottom, meaning, providing services as cheaply as possible is means that no one is doing their jobs properly. Very disheartening. I'm in social care and desperate to get out. My line managers are too stretched to support or guide me.
