TFN poll: should there be a mandatory 20mph speed limit?

Crop 20 mph

Calls are growing for the introduction of for national mandatory 20mph speed limits in residential areas.

Campaigners say this would save lives and cut emissions and pollution. The moves are being backed by the Scottish Green Party – which has called it a “vital public health measure” – and charities such as Living Streets and the British Lung Foundation.

However, some motoring groups say it is unnecessary and have pointed to studies which show such moves have limited impact.

That’s why we’re asking: what do you think? Should there be a mandatory 20mph speed limit in all residential areas?

There already are plenty of mandatory 20mph speed limits. I believe you mean should there be a default 20mph speed limit or more wide-spread 20mph speed limits.
