Charities working with children, young people and families have until 30 September to apply
Charities working with children, young people and families are invited to apply for grants from a £2 million Scottish Government fund.
The Children, Young People and Families and Adult Learning and Empowering Communities Project Fund (CYFEIF and ALEC Fund) is offering money to third sector organisations running projects using new and innovative ways of working to improving services and/or outcomes.
This could be charities which promote parenting skills, work to reduce the attainment gap, improve the life chances of looked after children, or improve the safety of children and young people.
Administered by Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland the CYPFEIF and ALEC Fund is already supporting 116 charities who applied to a three year core fund, which will provide around £14 million to benefit thousands of children, young people and families.

This new project funding is being released to strengthen the contribution of the third sector, enabling charities to deliver fresh, innovative and measurable approaches, beyond their core work.

“The third sector is vital in helping us achieve that ambition and this project funding will support charities to develop innovative ways of empowering children, young people, families and communities.
“I am confident that voluntary organisations will welcome the opportunity to apply for project funding and I look forward to hearing more about their work and ideas to improve the lives of families and communities across Scotland.”
The closing date for applications is 30 September 2016 with funding announcements expected at the start of 2017 for projects to begin in April 2017.
Lloyds TSB Foundation for Scotland will be running a series of information sessions on the fund. These will take place in Edinburgh (19 Aug), Aberdeen (25 Aug) and Glasgow (26 Aug).
