A third sector boss has been recognised for her contribution to public life.

Fiona Duncan, chief executive of the Corra Foundation, been awarded the 2018 Andrew Fletcher of Saltoun Award at the Saltire Society’s annual ceremony.

Judges praised Duncan for her work in the public sphere - which has included leading the foundation, heading up the Independent Care Review and running the Kilfinan Group, which provides mentors to heads of charities in Scotland.

Duncan was recognised alongside singer Karine Polwart, healthcare academic Professor Graham Watt and technology entrepreneur Chris van der Kuyl.

She said: “It’s a real privilege to be able to collect this award, particularly when I look around the room at my fellow award winners, each one of whom I know has made such a special contribution to Scottish society.”

This year’s award ceremony took place at the Saltire Society’s headquarters on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh on Saturday 22 September.
