Fancy dressed bikers took to the roads to support Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity

If you happened to see the Easter Bunny driving a motorbike this weekend don’t worry your eyes weren’t playing tricks on you.

Chances are it was just one of the over 1,000 bikers who took part in the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity fundraising Easter Egg Run.

Motorbike, trike and scooter riders all joined together for what was the 37th parade the charity has organised, though it was the first to follow a new route after its move to the Royal Hospital for Children.

Starting at Glasgow Green, the colourful convoy which as well as bunnies included superheroes and monsters, travelled five miles through the city centre and southside before being greeted by cheering crowds at the new hospital.

The bikers then made the patients’ days by giving them the chance to leave their wards and sit on some of the bikes to try them out for themselves.

Kirsten Sinclair, director of fundraising at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “We’ve thoroughly enjoyed celebrating the day with our supporters and would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part and for your kind donations which will go a long way to helping Scotland’s children and their families.”
