Central Scotland Rape Crisis centre is set to close in wake of scandal over bullying of staff

A rape crisis centre which was rocked by a bullying row is to close.

The Central Scotland Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre, based in Stirling, is shutting up shop following a tribunal ruling which found that former board member Duncan Dennett “regularly demonstrated aggression” on its premises.

A former worker was awarded a £19,426.58 pay out for constructive dismissal.

It is understood that Rape Crisis Scotland is working to try to set up a new support group for victims in the area.

A spokesman said: "Our priority is to ensure that survivors in the area have access to appropriate support, and we will be providing an interim serivce to survivors in partnership with Glasgow Rape Crisis while the new centre is being established."
