A Scottish politician has pledged to make a donation to charity following a reality TV show appearance.

However, former Scottish Labour leader Kezia Dugdale has refused to confirm how much of her fee from I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here will go to good causes.

The Lothian list MSP has already donated her Holyrood salary for the duration of her trip to the Rock Trust.

Speaking on the Victoria Derbyshire Show, she said: “Naturally as a politician I will have to declare any earnings I got from the programme through the normal processes and of course I will do that.

“The minute that my contract allows me to do that detail I will. I donated my salary before I left to the Rock Trust in Edinburgh, which supports vulnerable children at risk of homelessness.”

When pressed for a percentage of the fee she will handover, Dugdale said she could not confirm that yet for contractual reasons but had donated more than £20,000 to good causes over the last few years.

Dugdale was voted off the ITV show last Sunday, after making an unexpected entrance into the jungle last month.
