An Edinburgh art student has had her work selected to appear as part of a national charity campaign.

Elle McKee’s illustration (pictured below) will feature on this year’s Jeans for Genes Day T-shirt.

An annual campaign, Jeans for Genes Day sees people wearing their jeans to work or school and making a donation to Genetic Disorders UK.

With one in 25 children in the UK born with a genetic disorder the charity offers support to them and their families.

This year it takes place on Friday, 18 September and sales of the t-shirt, priced £20, featuring Elle’s design will be added to the total raised.

Elle told TFN: “I am absolutely thrilled to be picked and I'm really excited to be part of raising money and awareness for Jeans for Genes, it's such a wonderful charity.

“I am very honoured! I always took part in Jeans for Genes Day at school but this brief has led to me revisit the charity and get a better understanding of the work they do.”

This year is the 20th Jeans for Genes Day and Elle’s design was selected by a high profile judging panel, including Lauren Milligan of Vogue.co.uk, said when choosing the winning t-shirt design they were looking for something that was "stylish and appealing, has a clear message and is easy to wear".

The limited edition T-shirt will be available to buy online and in selected stores and will be worn on the day by celebrities including Kate Moss, Emma Bunton, Lucy Watson, Kate Garraway, Louise Thompson, Angela Scanlon, Nicola Roberts, Twiggy, Caroline Quentin, Coleen Rooney and young Scottish starlet, Tallia Storm among many others.
