The Scottish Government has elected to reappoint OSCR's current chair for a further four years.

The Very Reverend Dr Graham Forbes (pictured), provost of St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh, has been chair at the charity regulator since 2011.

His reappointment will run from 1 March 2015 to 28 February 2019.

John Swinney, deputy first minister and cabinet secretary for finance, constitution and economy announced the reappointment.

Forbes, who is also chair of the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland and of the Court of Edinburgh Napier University, has spent his career in the third sector.

A former chair of the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission, he was awarded the CBE in 2004 for public service in Scotland.

The post is part-time attracting a remuneration of £270 per day. As chair of the Mental Welfare Commission for Scotland, he receives £338 per day for a commitment of two days per month.

Forbes pays both fees directly to St Mary’s Cathedral.
