Corra Foundation has name Luke McCullough has chair, and has announced other changes in the boardroom

One of Scotland’s biggest funders has announced a raft of changes in the boardroom.

Corra Foundation has revealed Luke McCullough and Jude Turbyne have been appointed new chair and deputy chair respectively.

McCullough has served as a trustee since August 2015 and as deputy chair for the past two years. He works as senior policy adviser and corporate affairs manager at BBC Scotland.

He said: “It’s a real privilege to become chair of Corra Foundation, particularly as we embark on our new 10-year strategy. The world has changed dramatically since the strategy was launched in early March, but its themes of voice, power and change driven by communities are more relevant than ever.

“The response by communities and charities in recent months has been breath taking. For many people, these efforts have meant having access to food and other essential supplies, school and digital resources, and perhaps most importantly social contact. At Corra, we’re committed to getting alongside communities and organisations however we can to support their work.

“We’ll continue to do this as people begin to think about what comes next, and will do whatever we can to make sure conversations about building back better are shaped by those most impacted by the pandemic, and by the inequalities it has exacerbated.

“I would like to extend my personal thanks to Trevor Civval, who has been a trustee of Corra since 2014 and chair since 2017. Trevor has brought a great deal of wisdom, skill and dedication to the role and has been a great source of support to the whole Corra team.”

Civval said: “It has been a pleasure to serve as chair of Corra, particularly over a period that has seen us evolve radically, whilst remaining anchored in our values and mission. I look forward to seeing Corra continue to develop and I wish Luke and the whole team well as they embark on the new ten-year strategy.”

Jude Turbyne has been a Corra trustee since 2018, bringing a wealth of experience from her work in the charity sector, currently with OSCR (Scottish Charity Regulator) and before that in international development.

She said: “I see in my ‘day job’ the immense impact that the charity sector makes, never more so than in recent weeks and months. It’s an honour to be appointed deputy chair of Corra, particularly as we focus on supporting people to be heard, and power to shift so that communities shape the changes that matter to them.”

The foundation has also welcomed three new trustees: Christine McLaughlin, Michaela Collins and Mildred Zimunya.
