Small to medium sized charities are being given the chance to apply for funding.

Corra Foundation has announced the launch of #ShiftthePower Scotland Comic Relief Programme.

This exciting new programme is for community led grassroots organisations and charities that are passionate about early years, empowering women and girls, supporting people affected by homelessness, or tackling stigma around mental health.

#ShiftthePower aims to support groups with an income of £250,000 or less to create positive change. Groups can access grants of between £1,000 and £8,000.

Real life experience is at the heart of the programme, which is reaching out to find and fund the most inspiring ideas initiated and led by people and communities themselves.

Emma Stevenson, interim head of influence and senior investment partner, Comic Relief said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Corra Foundation to launch the #ShiftthePower Scotland Comic Relief programme. Comic Relief is committed to funding community led organisations and this is an exciting opportunity to ensure our funding goes to the communities where it is most needed, driving forward social change across our four strategic pillars to achieve real impact.”

Carolyn Sawers, deputy chief executive of the Corra Foundation, said: “Communities are full of people committed to challenging inequality, and Corra Foundation is proud to be delivering this programme on behalf of Comic Relief, supporting the vision of grassroots organisations working tirelessly to shift the power.”

To support those interested in applying, Corra Foundation will be holding four information sessions taking place at venues across Scotland in August and September. The sessions will be an opportunity to discuss the programme, ask questions and find out more about creating an inspiring application. For information on dates and how to sign up to attend a session see Corra’s website.

The closing date for #ShiftthePower Scotland Comic Relief Programme is 2pm on 30 September. Further information about the programme, including criteria, guidance and the online application form can be found online.
