Simon Massey and Amy Woodhouse will lead Children in Scotland for the rest of the year, with Jackie Brock on a leave of absence

A children’s charity has appointed an interim leadership team.

For family reasons, Children in Scotland’s chief executive Jackie Brock has taken a leave of absence from the role, from mid-September until the end of the year.

The charity’s Simon Massey, head of engagement and learning, and Amy Woodhouse, head of policy, projects and participation, have been appointed joint acting chief executives.

The pair took up post from this Monday (16 September) and will remain until Brock returns.

A statement from the charity said: “Simon and Amy have substantial experience of working in the children’s sector and in key leadership roles at Children in Scotland over the past four years. Their appointment was approved by our board and leadership team last month.

“Children in Scotland will continue as normal while they are in post and we look forward to working with all our partners to progress our shared aim of improving the lives of children and young people.
