J. K. Rowling's international charity Lumos is aiming to raise money to close harmful orphanages and protect children from trafficking

Lumos Foundation USA, J.K. Rowling’s international children’s charity, has announced a CrowdRise fundraiser giving donors the chance to win a day’s visit to the film set of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The campaign will be running until 20th September and each person who donates money will be entered into a competition to spend a day on the film set at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire.

The winner will be allowed to take one guest and will meet members of the cast and crew including actors Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Jude Law.

Also included in the prize are flights for two to London and a three-night stay in a four-star hotel, as well as two tickets to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter.

Other prizes are up for grabs based on how much each person donates, including ten signed copies of the original Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them screenplay book, a limited-edition print of the screenplay with illustrations, and a “Be the Light” t-shirt.

One donor will also receive a signed painting of the film’s main character Newt Scamander painted by mouth artist Henry Fraser.

Lumos Foundation are hoping to raise at least one million dollars with this campaign, which will go towards their work supporting vulnerable children around the world.

This work includes supporting the closure of harmful orphanages to reunite children with their families, providing safe alternative placements for children unable to return to their homes, protecting children from trafficking, abuse and exploitation, and raising awareness of the harm caused by donors unknowingly funding harmful orphanages.
