The online donations platform will raise its price for larger charities at the same time

JustGiving will drop its membership fee for “very small” charities from September, it has been revealed.

The online donations platform will raise its price for larger charities at the same time, while there will be no change for mid-size organisations.

In a blog post, JustGiving said its pricing scheme had remained unchanged since the company was launched in 2000.

Under the new approach, larger charities will be charged £39 per month, mid-sized organisations will pay £15, and very small charities will not be charged. JustGiving’s 5% transaction fee will remain unchanged.

This approach will enable us to freeze our monthly membership fee for mid-size charities, whilst charging a higher fee for larger ones

Details of how JustGiving will define “very small” will be released before September, the company said.

In a statement, the firm said: “In keeping with our mission to ensure that no good cause goes unfunded, we have opted for a fair pricing policy.

“This approach will enable us to freeze our monthly membership fee for mid-size charities, whilst charging a higher fee for larger ones. This will also enable us to create a basic free option for very small organisations, later in the year.

“Our charity members have high expectations of JustGiving. They want us to continue to improve our products and services, and most importantly, create new ones that help them raise more money.

“Updating our pricing enables us to keep making these investments.”

Good news here as times are more problematic for the small and the poorly resourced charities. Hopefully other members organisations will d the same.
