Annual event goes from strength to strength

Quarriers annual Ladies Lunch raked in £12,000 this year – thanks to generous guests.

Comedian Isobel Rutter entertained more than 180 guests who gave freely to help the Bridge of Weir-based social care charity and its various services.

To top-off the fine dining and anecdotes, further entertainment was supplied by vocal harmony group, The Jersey Tones, who got ladies on the dancefloor, singing and dancing.

Alice Harper Quarriers chief executive said: “Now in its third year, our Ladies’ Lunch is a staple in the Quarriers’ social calendar as it focuses on celebrating women. Every day Quarriers works with inspirational women who are facing challenges. These can be mums holding families together, women who have had a difficult start in life or those who are living with disabilities.

“Quarriers would be unable to continue to help these women without the generous support of our donors and attendees. On behalf of everyone at Quarriers we would like to thank our guests for making this another brilliant day.

“Special thanks must go to Isobel, she is both hilarious and inspirational and I hope guests took something away from the many topics she spoke about.

“Once again, we are astounded by the generosity of our guests and we would like to thank them for attending and raising so much on the day. Quarriers can make a real and lasting difference with their support.”

Speaking about the event, Isobel Rutter said: “I thoroughly enjoyed attending Quarriers Ladies’ Lunch and imparting some of my life learnings to an audience of so many wonderful women.

"I am proud to be part of a day which raises funds to ensure the charity can continue to support women reach their true potential.”
