Lawyers for Prince Harry hit out at charity claims

Say claims are "salacious"

A campaign group has reported Prince Harry’s charity for receiving funds from Prince William’s charity.

Republic, an anti-monarchy campaign group, has accused Harry’s charity Travalyst of "inappropriate use of charitable funds, conflicts of interest and lack of independence."

They claim the Royal Foundation - William and Kate's organisation - gave a £145,000 grant to Sussex Royal and £144,901.

Lawyers for Prince Harry said everything was above board.

"To suggest otherwise is unequivocally wrong and will be acted upon accordingly with the weight of the law," they added.

"The avenue through which this was publicly and salaciously created only suggests a hunger for media attention as well as a shared and attacking agenda, which is neither right nor just."

A spokesperson with the Sussex Royal foundation said: "Grants made to the non-profit organisation Travalyst are for the ongoing development of projects that will support communities, wildlife, and the environment through sustainable travel and tourism.

"All grants have been made impartially and objectively, fully in line with governance requirements, and have been reported transparently in full accordance with regulations."

The organisation, quite legitimately, have asked the Charity Commissioners to do their job and ensure that both Charities are fulfilling their obligations according to their trusts documents. This is especially important when a charity is being wound up. Not even the Things and Things of Sussex and Cambridge are above being audited.
