​The Bank of Scotland Foundation is offering charities £20,000

Scottish charities are being offered grants of up to £20,000 by the Bank of Scotland Foundation.

Those looking to help people take better control of their money can apply forthe foundation’s financial inclusion grant.

The programme will provide funding of between £1,000 and £20,000 to registered Scottish charities, enabling them to deliver projects that promote financial inclusion and money advice.

Kate Guthrie, chair of Bank of Scotland Foundation said: “The addition of the Financial Inclusion Grants Programme to our portfolio of grants has the potential to change lives.

“Financial education and money advice has never been more important. They are key skills that every one of us requires.

“The impact of the grants we make will be further amplified by Lloyds Banking Group’s volunteering manpower. I am confident that, together, we will be able to make a meaningful and visible difference within our local communities.”

The foundation has also announced that 26 charities are set to benefit from its current grants programmes amounting to almost £215,000.

The grants range from £2,500 to £12,500, and will benefit a wide range of charitable causes including the elderly, young people, disability, financial advice and literacy.

This latest grants programme enhances the foundation’s existing programmes which have distributed over £4.7 million to over 700 charities.

Since its launch in November 2010, the foundation has enabled charities to support almost 100 jobs and have a direct impact on over 80,000 people across Scotland.
