Scotland’s youth hostels are getting a rebrand.

Following a review of the 87 year-old organisation, the much loved Scottish Youth Hostels Association will now be known as Hostelling Scotland.

A new logo will accompany the new name.

Bosses say the new identity reflects the organisation’s “commitment to understanding the needs of its members, guests and employees” as the modern face of Scottish hostelling.

The rebrand follows a £500K development of Aberdeen Youth Hostel in 2017 and a £2.1M refurbishment of Glen Nevis Youth Hostel which will be completed by May 2018.

Margo Paterson, chief executive of SYHA Hostelling Scotland, said: "Our mission is and always has been to make more of Scotland more accessible to more people than anyone else; and especially young people.

“We exist for the benefit of all who wish to explore and discover our breath taking country, from cities to islands, beaches to hills and mountains and all points between.”

Over the next few months there will be a staged programme of works rolling out the new identity on signage, staff uniforms and print materials.

It will also be launching a new website in the coming months which will provide better online booking services and information.
