A masterclass with Adam Hastings is just one of the prizes up for grabs at the Eric Liddell Centre’s Going for Gold Fundraising Gala

A group of rugby daft youngsters will have an afternoon to remember as Scotland international, Adam Hastings is set to put them through their paces in a kicking masterclass.

The Glasgow Warriors stand-off will host a kicking masterclass at BT Murrayfield for the group of youngsters following a tour of the stadium as a charity auction prize from The Eric Liddell Centre’s upcoming Going for Gold Fundraising Gala on Friday (26 April).

The Eric Liddell Centre, a dementia care charity and community hub is hosting the second edition of the gala. At the previous event held in 2017, Eric Liddell’s daughter, Patricia Liddell Russell was presented with her father’s reissued Scotland international rugby cap by Scottish Rugby.

Guests at the gala will be welcomed into the event via pitchside at BT Murrayfield Stadium where members of George Watson’s award winning pipe band will perform, and several top prizes will be up for auction.

John MacMillan, chief executive of the Eric Liddell Centre, said: “We are so grateful to Scottish Rugby for providing the kicking masterclass as an auction lot which will go a long way in helping us raise much needed funds for our care charity and community hub.”

A Scottish Rugby spokesperson said: “Eric Liddell was Scotland cap number 404. As we near the centenary of his first cap, we are delighted to support the Eric Liddell Centre through this initiative with Scotland cap number 1094, Adam Hastings.”

Tickets for the event and some of the items up for auction can be accessed online.
