Seven people working in Scotland’s third sector have won an exclusive scholarship to complete a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with Edinburgh Business School.

The awards are part of a £250,000 Scottish Silver Scholarship scheme created to celebrate the school’s 25th anniversary.

The seven are part of a 19-strong cohort of scholarship winners from the public, private and third sector sector who have all begun studying for their MBA this month.

Without exception they are highly-driven and dedicated individuals who we are delighted to support with our MBA programme. It will challenge them and stretch them, but ultimately encourage them to develop professionally and personally

Edinburgh Business School has named the 19 applicants from Scotland who have been selected to receive a fully-funded place on its world-renowned Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.

Professor Heather McGregor, executive dean of Edinburgh Business School, said the calibre of applicants was outstanding: “The judging panel was immensely impressed with the high standard of applications and the diverse range of sectors and backgrounds reflected by the prospective students.

“Without exception they are highly-driven and dedicated individuals who we are delighted to support with our MBA programme. It will challenge them and stretch them, but ultimately encourage them to develop professionally and personally, helping them to achieve their ambitions.”

Each of the scholarship recipients will have their nine self-study MBA modules and exams fully-funded. The cost of each scholarship is valued at more than £10,000 and will also include a four-day on-campus teaching seminar and two-day revision session for one course.

Edinburgh Business School is the Graduate School of Business of Heriot-Watt University. The Edinburgh Business School MBA can be studied entirely by independent learning which enables working professionals to combine studying with work, family and other commitments. They continue to earn while they learn, putting their new skills and expertise into practice immediately.
