As Glasgow enjoys the Homeless World Cup this week, TFN is kicking off its own Social Enterprise Summer celebration.

With the sun shining and holiday season in full swing, TFN is using the quiet time to take a look at some of the amazing social enterprises that are changing lives across Scotland and further afield.

Scotland is known as a center of excellence for social enterprise, so we’ll be examining some of the people that make it so through our Inspiring Social Entrepreneurs series, starting next week.

Throughout July and August the TFN team will be out and about at social enterprises. We’ll be creating content to highlight some of the great ways social enterprises are reaching the public from café’s with a conscience and hotels with a heart to social enteprise sport stars, Really good retailers and social suppliers of interest to ethical businesses across all sectors.

For social enterprises themselves we’ll be examining how the sector has developed over the last decade and where it’s going, as well as providing plenty of advice and information on how to be a social success story. Later in the summer we’ll also be hosting a live online debate on the state of social enterprise in Scotland.

TFN has also launched an exclusive new advertising opportunity specially for third sector organisations to coincide with Social Enterprise Summer. Advertising in our Social Suppliers directory is a fraction of the price of standard TFN advertising. Contact [email protected] or call 0141 946 8708 to find out more.

TFN is Scotland’s unique publication exclusively for the third sector. We want social enterprises to know that TFN is the best place to pick up news, views and information to help them run their businesses. Therefore all new readers who sign up to one of our suite of free ebulletins before the end of August will be entered into a prize draw to win a £100 voucher to spend in a Scottish social enterprise. Sign up at thirdforcenews.org.uk/signup and look out for our handy listicle highlighting great ways to spend £100 in a social enterprise.

Readers can get involved in Social Enterprise Summer by letting us know about their favourite social enterprises, voting for their most Inspiring Social Entrepreneur, getting involved in our live debate and engaging with the campaign on social media using the hashtag #SocEntSummer. We’ll be publishing some of the best social media posts using the #SocEntSummer hashtag in the newspaper each week.

Happy #SocEntSummer.
