Hotel which served highly unusual cheeseboard will be revealed - if donations go to Comic Relief

An unusual mix of cheese and biscuits has become an unwitting internet sensation – and a possibly "grate" big money spinner for Comic Relief to boot.

When Ayrshire woman Diane Murray ordered cheese and biscuits she was expecting the usual fare of crackers, oatcakes and cheese.

But what got caerphilly put down to her has now become an unwitting internet sensation across the globe.

A picture of the diner’s unusual mix of bourbons, jammie dodgers and custard creams mingling with wedges of brie, cheddar and the arbitrary stalk of celery has now gone viral, after her stepdaughter, Steph Kerr, posted a picture of the “cheese and biscuits bowl" on Twitter.

Now this brie-f encounter has been shared by users over 9,000 times: "If you need cheering up, here's a photo of the time my stepmum asked for cheese and biscuits at a hotel," she tweeted.

Murray has so far remained tight-lipped about the name of the hotel though rumours have been squashed it was the Paris Stilton.

She does however say she will reveal the premises if a wedge of cash - not cheese - is donated to Comic Relief.
