The finalists for the Institute of Directors Scotland awards 2018 includes a number of third sector leaders

Some of Scotland’s most inspiring third sector leaders are finalists in this year’s Institute of Directors (IoD) awards.

Tom Halpin of Sacro, Steve McCreadie of The Lens, Celine Sinclair of the Yard and Helen Sykes of Helm Training Limited are the finalists in the Third Sector Director of the Year category at this year’s IoD Scotland awards.

Celine is also competing for the small business Director of the Year award, where she is up against Nathalie Agnew of Muckle Media and John Wilson of Ajenta.

Martin Armstrong, of the social housing body the Wheatley Group, is a finalist in the IoD director of the Year category for large businesses. He is up against Craig Anderson of the Scottish Salmon Company, Alban Denton of Loch Duart Ltd and Mark Williams of NWH Group.

Steve McCreadie, who set up the Lens to promote intrapreneurship (internal focused entrepreneurship) within the third sector, has also been recognised in the Workplace Innovation Director category.

The awards also see senior people within Scottish businesses recognised within their geographical area. Tom Halpin is up for the Edinburgh, Lothian and Borders director of the year, Karen Moore of Scottish Waterways Trust is a finalist in the Fife and Central Scotland area, Helen Sykes is up for the Tayside award and Martin Armstrong is contending for the Glasgow and West of Scotland award.

David Watt, executive director of IoD Scotland, said: "Congratulations to all our finalists. Each and every one is a strong potential winner.

“They have shown flair and resilience in equal measure. I am excited about 22 March when the winners will be revealed!"

The IoD Scotland awards will be held at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Glasgow.
