Green group launches new social enterprise

An environmental group has launched a new social enterprise to fund its campaigning.

Transform Scotland - the national alliance for sustainable transport - released details of its new initiative, Transform Creative, a partnership of creative professionals specialising in design and campaign communications.

The charity says all profits are to be reinvested in Transform's campaigns for a more sensible transport system.

Ana Soldatenko, Transform Creative's head of design, said: "We've identified a need for high-quality yet affordable design and communications services for Scotland's third sector.

"By launching Transform Creative, now people have the opportunity to improve how they look to the world while at the same time ensuring that any profits are retained within the social enterprise sector.

"I'm delighted to have brought together this brilliant team of experienced professionals in the field of graphic design, web design, illustration, photography, and digital communications as well as experts in campaigning and public affairs.

"We're based amongst a host of influential third sector organisations within Ethical Property Company's Thorn House in central Edinburgh, and so on a daily basis we are in contact with a range of charities and social enterprises.

"And being a charity and a social enterprise ourselves, we know the challenges and constraints that these groups have to work within."

Creative's team of partners includes Colin Hattersley, award-winning photographer; Peter Urwin, web designer; Tom Holmes, Glasgow-based illustrator; and Stan Blackley, public relations consultant, most recently a veteran of the Yes Scotland campaign.
