Employers invited to apply for up to £50,000 for projects to improve inclusivity and diversity.

An £800,000 fund to improve inclusivity in the workplace has opened for applications.

The Scottish Government’s Workplace Equality Fund aims to enable employers to address long standing barriers particular groups face in entering and progressing in the labour market.

Third sector organisations and private sector businesses can apply for up to £50,000 to carry out activities over an 11 month period that will help to improve diversity in the workplace.

The funding will support employers in reducing employment inequalities, discrimination and barriers particularly across the arts, culture, leisure, tourism, finance, manufacturing, construction, agriculture and fishing, transport and communication and STEM sectors.

Impact Funding Partners, who are managing the fund on behalf of the government, said 22 projects had benefited from previous funding rounds.

These include initiatives to provide training and support to women in the financial and technology sectors, improve understanding of mental health issues in workplaces, and improve inclusion and diversity in the construction industry.

Any organisation wishing to apply must be based in Scotland and be able to demonstrate that their projects will be completed by the end of August 2020.
