Poll: Covid lockdown - do we need tougher measures?

This poll is about 4 years old

We are now in lockdown – as the UK takes unprecedented peace-time measures to combat the Covid-19 virus.

However, there have still be reports of crowded trains, gatherings having to be broken up and some workers claiming they have to travel to work even though their jobs are non-essential.

It is clear that to suppress this virus, strict measures are necessary.

But are we going far enough? We can still go to supermarkets and are advised to exercise once a day, but despite legislation put through this week, police are still taking a softly-softly approach.

In countries such as Spain and Italy, which have so far borne the brunt of the coronavirus crisis in Europe, measures are much stricter, with people having to have permission to leave their homes, drones patrolling the skies and people only being allowed out to exercise in the vicinity of their homes.

That’s why we are asking, is the lockdown strict enough– do we need tougher measures?

need a stricter lockdown, similar to France, as a lot of people are going out more than once for exercise
