Poll: should Brexit be stopped?

This poll is over 5 years old

The UK can unilaterally stop the Brexit process, the European Court of Justice has said.

Its ruling has given hope to those who want to see the entire endeavour scrapped.

Prime Minister Theresa May has postponed a crunch vote in the House of Commons where MPs were set to vote down the Brexit deal she had made with EU members.

With the clock ticking till the 29 March 2019 withdrawal date, it is uncertain what will happen next.

Many are calling for a re-run of the referendum, given that we now have at least some idea of the terms under which we will be expected to leave the EU – and in order to avoid what could be a disastrous no-deal exit.

Proponents of the so-called “people’s vote” are confident that another poll would reverse the decision of the 2016 referendum.

But others are saying that Brexit is the will of the people – democratically decided through that vote, and that to go back on this would disenfranchise the majority who voted for Brexit.

That’s why we’re asking – what do you think should happen? Now that the courts say we can stop it - should Brexit be stopped?
