As we head towards Blue Monday, officially the gloomiest day of the year (21 January), and knowing how much stress and depression emanates from work, should the four day week become the new norm? With advances in technology – especially artificial intelligence – a four day-week is within our grasp. Equating to 28 hours, the four day week could make long working hours a distant memory, employment spread out to reduce unemployment, while management would be tasked with using technology and workers’ time at work to improve poor productivity.
