Every jumper tells a story - and all for a good cause

Covent Garden comes to Byres Road

Save the Children’s store on Byres Road in Glasgow is to host an exclusive collection of jumpers from the charity’s London based pop-up shop, Story Knits.

Every jumper is uniquely labelled and tells the story of an individual child helped by Save the Children.

The collection of pre-loved knitwear was donated by Beyond Retro and exhibited for one week in December at the pop up Story Knits store in Covent Garden, London, before moving to Glasgow.

The curated collection of one-of-a-kind second-hand jumpers brings to life the stories of 91 children – the number of young people helped by the charity around the world every minute.

Each jumper has been handpicked and named after a child and is accompanied by a label telling their story.

Kate Thompson, Save the Children’s head of strategic operations: “We are delighted to welcome the exclusive stock from Save the Children’s Story Knits pop-up store to our Glasgow store.

“This unique knitwear collection generously donated by Beyond Retro allows the public to take home a high-quality preloved jumper, while connecting and learning more about how Save the Children is working to transform the lives of children across the globe.”

The limited-edition jumpers will be on sale from 8 January and cost between £20 - £30, with 100% of proceeds going to Save the Children’s work in the UK and across the globe.
