Investigation launched after theft at Dundee clothes banks

Entry was forced into the two Salvation Army donation sites in the city.

Police Scotland have launched an investigation after thefts from two clothing donation banks in Dundee.

Thieves are reported to have forced entry into the pair of Salvation Army clothing banks between Thursday, January 18 and Saturday, January 20.

Clothing was stolen at both the Riverside Drive and South Road sites in the city.

Similar incidents took place elsewhere in Scotland last year, with banks in Tayside, Fife and Glasgow all hit.

Sergeant John Maddocks said: “Incidents such as this are very disruptive for the charity trying to raise funds for good causes.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would urge anyone who may have information to call 101, quoting reference 3052 or 3112 of January 22.”
